New Guinness World Record for the Largest Tap Dance Lesson.
On Friday 21st September 2018 as part of Culture Night Belfast with Bank of Ireland Julie taught the World's Largest Tap Lesson at the Europa Hotel in Belfast. The new record was 445 participants, beating the previous record of 274 set in Queensland, Australia in 2017. To achieve the record participants had to participate fully in a 30 minute lesson and 3 minute routine which Julie had choreographed.

Guinness World Record attempt for the largest tap lesson.

EYB Sleeping Beauty
Congratulations to Grade 6 pupil Emma who was selected to perform in the English Youth Ballets production of Sleeping Beauty in Belfast's Grand Opera House on the 25th & 26th April. We wish her all the best with the rehearsals and performances.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make the Dancing Display at Lisburn Island Arts Theatre on Saturday 15th March a great success. I have received wonderful comments about the standard of dancing and how much the audience enjoyed the show, congratulations to all performers.

Professional Cats Masterclass
Cats is currently in the Grand Opera House and on Sunday 10th November pupils from the Julie Dorman School of Dance had the opportunity to learn the 'Jellicle Cats' routine from the show. Cameron Ball who plays the roles of Macavity and Ademus in the touring production took the Masterclass at the Crescent Arts Centre and then had a question and answer session afterwards.
Everyone was fantastic and learnt the routine very quickly. Well done to everyone involved and thanks to Cameron for a great class.
English Youth Ballet Auditions

On Tuesday 28th May 2013 pupils from the Julie Dorman School of Dance performed in 'An Evening with the Stars from Strictly Come Dancing' in the Waterfront Hall. Well done to everyone involved, I heard fantastic comments after the show about the dancers performances and their behaviour backstage.

The Julie Dorman School of Dance - Dancing Display will take place on Saturday 2nd March 2013 at Lisburn's Island Theatre. Details about rehearsal, timings and costumes will be given out closer to the time.

City Dance 2012
On Saturday 3rd November a free Tap workshop will take place at the Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast from 3pm - 3.45pm, no booking, experience or shoes required. Just come along, bring your friends and give it a try.

On Wednesday 10th October Julie is taking the Girls Brigade at Kilbride Presbyterian Church for a Zumba Class.
Angelina Ballerina The Mousical
On Saturday 29th September 8 very excited little ballerina's took part in Angelina Ballerina The Mousical in the Grand Opera House in Belfast. Both performances were fantastic, both myself and their parents were very proud of the girls. A big thank you to Dom, the Cast and everyone else who helped make this possible, for giving the dancers the opportunity to perform and for making their experience very special and for the magical memories we will have forever.

Julie has gone back to Bloomfield Collegiate School but not as a pupil, this time it's to teach Zumba on Wednesday afternoons to some Year 12 pupils during their PE class.

New Royal Academy of Dance Grades 1, 2 & 3 Syllabus.
On Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th August Julie attended a Royal Academy of Dance Teacher's Course which covered the new Grade 1, 2 and 3 syllabus which has recently been launched. After November 2012 all pupils in Grades 1, 2, & 3 will be learning the new work which is accompanied by lovely music.

Zumba Hen Party
On Sunday 4th March 2012, I travelled to Edenmore Golf Club in Moira where I took a Zumba Class for a Hen Party as part of a Hen Weekend. Everyone's dancing was fantstic and had a great time. Good Luck to the Bride to be who gets married on Saturday 5th May 2012.

Piano Rehearsal / Ballet Exams
Piano rehearsals will take place on Saturday 14th May 2011, the ballet examinations are taking place on Friday 20th May 2011. Candidates have been given their times and details but if unsure please ask.
I have now started to teach groups for birthday parties, if you would like to have a dance party you can give me a call to discuss availability, I am flexible in terms of themes eg: Ballerina Party, High School Musical etc.
